Sometimes, a couple of letters can make a world of difference is a cats chance for adoption. FIV or Feline Immunodeficiency Virus affects somewhere between 3-15% of all cats. Those who have tested positive for the virus, sadly, have almost no chance of finding homes. Mostly because of fear and lack of information, people opt to stay away from FIV+ cats. But they really have nothing to fear!
At the Lange Foundation, we know these FIV+ cats have as much love and affection to give as any other cat. If cared for properly, an FIV+ cat can live a long, healthy life. Yet sadly, people still walk right on past these fantastic cats.
